'Entitled neighbour parked over my driveway but my clever revenge backfired'

Send Push

A woman has slammed her entitled neighbour who parked over her driveway and then hit her with a hefty bill. She explained how she decided to take action after her neighbour for blocking her driveway, making it almost impossible for her to exit her home.

She quietly had her car towed away - but she woke up to an angry message from her neighbour in response. Taking to Reddit to share her predicament, she said: "My neighbour sent me a text last night forcing me to pay for her daughters towing charge because she parked in front of my driveway.

"It wouldn’t have been smart to drive over my lawn since it was still wet from the rain. Also couldn’t street park since it was full, maybe that's why she parked in front of my driveway."

The message reads: "It was extremely uncalled for you to call a tow company and get [name[ car towed away.

"I just checked my home security system and saw that you had more than enough room to get into your driveway through your front lawn. Not cool.

"Because you towed her car, I am politely asking you to pay the $300 towing fee plus the daily $50 storage fee they charge for each day you don't pay.

"If I don't receive payment from you within the next five days, I am going to have to call the police and bring you to small claims court, but I really don't want that to happen so I would advise you to send me the payment ASAP."

While most users agreed her neighbour is in the wrong, others shared their shock over her entitlement.

One user said: "Whatever you do, don't respond. This is not your problem.

"The cops will tell them to get bent and small claims court will look at the (supposed) footage and see that they were blocking you, case dismissed."

Another user added: "I love the idea of the car accruing daily fees until you pay. That's hilarious."

A third user said: "I'm always amazed by how many people have their neighbour's phone number just in their phone, I don't even know my neighbor's names and I've lived here for years."

One more user added: "It’s a bluff. The police will absolutely not do anything.

"And it will cost her more to file in the small claims court than she would hope to make, and she absolutely will not win.

"Ignore it! Do not respond. Do not engage. You are well within your rights to have the car towed. Do it again if they park there again Do not let them bully you!"
